Flood: Senate President, Lawan Gives Out Relief Materials To Victims

Yesterday, President of the Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, gave out some relief materials to victims of the recent flood that occurred in parts of his Constituency in Bade and Jakusko Local Government Areas.

Lawan, who was in his Yobe North Senatorial District over the weekend, had earlier flagged off a free medical outreach programme for his Constituents across the Local Government Areas that makes his Senatorial District and also flagged off the construction of some township and roads in Gashua and Nguru.

The communities, whose houses were affected by the flood, got 4000 bags of cement, 480 bundles of zinc, 1150 logs of timber and 160 bags of nails during the distribution exercise.

Other victims, whose farmlands were affected, shared among themselves food items including Rice, Maize and Millet. Provisions were made for a total of 650 bags of each of the food items.

The Senate President, Lawan said this gesture was meant to be a support and his personal Intervention to complement what the Yobe State Government had done for victims of the disaster.
