The other accomplice, Mr. Chijoke Akamnonu managed to escape and was said to be on the run.

Mr. Okoro in a petition to the police had alleged that the suspects conspired, targeted and abducted the victims from their school bus before they were frustrated by the residents, the kids were later freed and taken to their house as their parents had gone to work. Okoro claimed that the abduction saga had seriously affected the children and that the suspects were not remorseful, rather they were boasting that they had every connections to handle the matter and remain free.
