Gov Uba Sani Holds Interactive Session With LG Chairmen & Councillors

The Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has urged Local Government chairmen to ensure that safety and security remain a top priority on their agenda,to create an environment conducive for investment and development in the State.
Governor Sani made this call on Tuesday 17th October 2023, during an interactive meeting with the 23 Local Government Chairmen and Councillors,that held at Umaru Musa Yar’adua Hall,
Murtala Square, Kaduna.
During the meeting, Governor Sani directed the Local Government heads to conduct Bi-weekly or alteast monthly security meetings in their respective councils stressing that it is  significant to partner with religious and traditional leaders to improve intelligence gathering and combat emerging security challenges such as kidnappings,armed robbery and other social vices.
“I urge you to support and work closely with security agencies and provide them with the necessary information needed  in carrying out their duties. I also want to thank you for working with the State Government in the recruitment of over 7 thousand personnel of Kaduna State Vigilance Service”, Governor Sani remarked.
Furthermore, Governor Sani drew the attention of the meeting to the detrimental impact of rural-urban migration on rural development and urged the local government chairmen to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to tackle this issue.
Acknowledging the significance of the rural economy, he assured the leaders of his administration’s commitment to identifying and resolving the challenges faced by farmers to promote rural development as part of his initiative for rural transformation.
On Financial inclusion, Governor Sani stressed that the high number of underserved and vulnerable individuals in the state was worrisome. He emphasized his commitment to addressing this issue by signing his first executive order on financial inclusion.
Furthermore, Governor Sani assured the local government chairmen that his administration would respect and uphold their autonomy. He encouraged them to utilize the resources at their disposal effectively to promote development within their respective local government areas.
In their response, the local government chairmen pledged their commitment to working closely with the State Government to fulfill its 7-point SUSTAIN agenda, which focuses on rural economic transformation and overall development. They expressed their appreciation to the Governor for his dedication to rural development and requested his consideration for essential projects within their respective councils.
