Hon. Barr. Harrison Nwadike Buries Mom In Grand Style Amid Tears

It was on Friday, 30th July, 2021, that the remains of the 75-year old late Ezinne Magdalene Chikodiri Nwadike (Nee Nwanyanwu Mezie), a virtuous woman and caring mother of Imo born Lagos-  based business mogul and boardroom political strategist, Hon. Barr. Harrison Nwadike (Harrymag), was laid to rest at the  Umuokwara village, Ihebinowere Autonomous Community, Njaba LGA, Imo State, of the deceased husband’s compound, Ezinna Chief Humphrey Awuzie Nwadike.

While the burial had come and gone, it would linger almost forever in the fond memories of the bereaved Nwadike family, close relations, in-laws, well wishers, as well as those who attended the funeral ceremony of a woman, who devoted her lifetime to family and the service of God and humanity.

The life and times of Late Ezinne Magdalen Chikodiri Nwadike (Nee Nwanyanwumezie), born in 1946 to the family of late Nze Anthony Nnanna Nwanyanwumezie and late Lolo Benedeth Nwaoyibogalu Nwanyanwumezie (Nee Iwuozor), from Umuokwara Nwoneri Isiozi-Aka Autonomous Community,  Njaba LGA, Imo State, was a story of  a humble and hardworking  Godfearing Christian woman, who gave her all; life, time and resources to serve God, empowered a number of the youths, contributed in technical skills acquisition and granted nonrefundable soft loans to widows for business startups; as she cheerfully put smiles on the faces of people around her, not just to her children and family members. These dispassionate philanthropic gestures and selfless community services earned her a place of pride in the hearts of the people as she was honoured by both her community and church respectively; as ‘Nneora ‘ – mother of all, and ‘Ezinne’ – a devoted  good Christian mother. 

The above beautiful story about this amazon of a woman and virtuous mother ended on Friday, 30th July, 2021, when Ezinne Magdalene Chikodiri Nwadike finally transited and was committed to mother earth amid tears but with consoling farewell cheers by her family, community and members of the Apostolic Faith Church as officiated by Rev. Emmanuel Ibe, Rev. Levi Nwachukwu, Rev. Okezie Onyechere,  Evang. Liberate Onyeiwu, Evang. Chinedu Agodi, among others.

Alive in heaven, it was indeed, the passage of a saint of God as Ezinne Magdalene Chikodiri Nwadike took a final bow and relocated to heaven on Angels wings. A virtuous woman by all standards! 

However, just like the Biblical Joseph, Hon. Barr. Harrison Nwadike has risen and shone like a thousand stars among his siblings and the enlarged Nwadike family in Umuokwara village, Ihebinowere Autonomous Community, Njaba LGA, Imo State. This is understandably so and not necessarily by the measure of his deep financial pursue but as a result of his goodwill, discipline, integrity, exemplary leadership, social contacts,  business network, reach and strong presence in Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency and across Imo State. No doubt, Hon. Barr. Harrison Nwadike is one of the recurring decimals in the political discuss of the largest Federal Constituency in Nigeria, having tested the political waters, won some and also lost some.

True to what he represents, Harrymag, as he is fondly known by his business associates, Hon. Barr. Harrison Nwadike;  the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the 2015 National Assembly elections for Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency, and the party’s nominated candidate in the last general elections, has continued to enjoy avalanche of goodwill,  support and solidarity across the Federal Constituency as his late mother’s burial witnessed personalities from the political, business, traditional and religious classes.

The Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma, ably represented by his Deputy, Prof. Placid Njoku, while consoling the Nwadike family and the good people of Ihebinowere Autonomous Community in Njaba LGA, seized the opportunity the medium created to personally register his heartfelt condolences to his good friend, brother and consistent party man, Barr.  Harrison Nwadike, whom he described as ‘a trusted political ally.’  The Governor, however, prayed God for the gentle repose of the soul of Ezinne Magdalene Chikodiri Nwadike, who touched many lives very positively during her pilgrim journey of service to God and humanity.

At the Community Primary School, Umuokwara village, venue of the burial ceremony, top notch business men and political gladiators were also not missing in the rich attendance list;  as High Chief Cosmos Maduba, SA to the Imo Governor on Mobilization, Chief Ugonna Ozurigbo, Honourable Member representing Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency alongside the retinue of his colourful entourage led by Hon. Barr. Jude Uzokwu, among other dignatries, were spotted at the watershed event, as Shema Melody Band Group thrilled the guests with heartwarming and scintillating bongo songs. 

Appearing rather too sober and reflective in a well captured tribute to his late mother, Hon. Barr. Harrison Nwadike expressed thus:
“I’m very sad that you left me without saying goodbye. I wish I had the chance to say goodbye and get one last hug.
I hope you are in a better place looking down on us and nodding your head in approval.”

In an interview session with the deceased husband, Ezinne Humphrey Awuzie Nwadike, the Chief mourner told the publisher of 4th Estate Reporters that: “Maggi, as he fondly called his late wife, was an epitome of charity, a virtuous woman and caring mother, who cared for her children and all that came in close contact with her for counselling and biblical insights”.

Among the various sociopolitical groups that paid condolences to Hon. Barr. Harrison Nwadike included but not limited to, #TogetherWeCan Political Organization of Hon. Kingsley Echendu, led by the DG, Mr. Kenneth Ejiofor, the Harrsion Nwadike Support Group from Nwangele LGA and members of #Abba4thForce led by Comr. Kennedy Ejiofor.
