In preparation for FA Cup and International outings, Buruj Sports Academy boys continued their winning spree against highly rated LOF United of Orile Iganmu at a friendly match played inside the Araromi Youth Development Centre, Gbagada Lagos.
When the match started at exactly 9am, the Buruj boys gradually began to assert their dominance, and when they upped the tempo pressing, LOF United boys penetrated into their box but lost many chances. In the 45th minute, close to the end of the first half of the encounter, LOF United got their chance and utilize it well as they scored their first goal in the game.
The goal offered the visitors hope, and Buruj boys had some nervy moments during the closing stages of first half.
The second half began with the fully charged Buruj Boys coming back in shape with the Skipper, Noah Salaudeen, scoring an equalizing goal in the 47th minute of play. The goal was a boost to the team as they continued to mount more pressure on the visitors.
The new striker in Buruj Sports Academy colours, James Narebor, showed that he was equal to the tasks ahead as he delivered a fantastic goal for his team in 70 minutes of play after losing many chances in his first half.
The goal gave Buruj Sports Academy the lead and the upper hand. The Buruj Boys with their no retreat no surrender squad scored another goal off the boot of Omoniyi Afolabi in 79 minutes of play.
LOF United FC forwards had chances but the ever improved Goalkeeper of Buruj Sports Academy, Edet Inyang, denied them scoring chances as he made a lot of saves.
At 90 minutes of play, the game ended 3 – 1 in favour of Buruj Sports Academy.
