Facts have finally emerged on how a 40-year old man, Chukwunonso Happiness and his wife, Blessing, conspired to buy two kids suspected to have been stolen in Jos and were moving them from Lagos to Onitsha, Anambra State before they were caught.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the wife, Blessing, was first arrested by the Police in Ojo area of Lagos before she implicated her husband, Chukwunonso.

Both were detained and undergoing interrogation for child trafficking over the alleged theft of the two boys, aged 3 and 6.
The Police however, did not state the purpose the couple were in such business, whether they were childless or merchandised for ritual purposes.

It was gathered that the preliminary investigation by the Police showed that the kids were actually stolen as the Police were said to be looking for the parents of the kids.
However, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, confirmed the arrest and stated that the couple were being investigated over the act.
He stated that on 31st October, 2019, at about 2030hrs, acting on information from a credible source, detectives from Ojo Division led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Abdullah Malah, arrested one Chukwunonso Blessing ‘f’ 30yrs of No. 23 Masebinu Street, Igbede, Ojo.
The lady, Blessing, was seen along Alaba International Market with two children namely Joshua James ‘m’ 6yrs and Samuel Gbawune ‘m’ 3yrs trying to board a vehicle to Onitsha, Anambra State. DSP Elkana said upon questioning, she claimed that the boys were adopted by her husband, Chukwunoso Happiness from a Motherless Babies Home in Jos, Plateau State and brought them to Lagos. That she was taking them to Onitsha to meet her husband.
But the Police were not satisfied with her explanation and then on 1st November, 2019, at about 0700hrs, the said husband was also arrested by the Police. He confessed to have bought the kids at the sum of N140,000 from one Mama Oyoo ‘f’ of Jos township. The kids were then recovered. Efforts are emplaced to identify their parents and reunite them.

The Police Command calls on motor park operators, unions and well meaning Nigerians to keep eyes on passengers with kids that appear in suspicious manner.
