On 15th September, 2024, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Executive Governor of Imo State, was honoured with excellence award as “Onye Ndu Ndi Igbo”, Excellent Leader of Ndi Igbo in diaspora at the Igbo Day New Yam festival in Accra, Ghana.
The award was presented by HRM Amb. Dr. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu, Eze Ndi Igbo 1 na Ghana and Igbo Community Ghana, in recognition of Governor Uzodimma’s outstanding leadership, excellence, and good governance in Nigeria’s public administration.
The Governor was represented at the ceremony by the Deputy Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, whose entourage included the Majority Leader, Hon. Dele Onyemaechi, and the Chief Whip, Hon. Chigozie Nwaneri.
The award is a testament to Governor Uzodimma’s commitment to serving the people of Imo State and his leadership in promoting the interests of Ndi Igbo in diaspora.
The Igbo Day New Yam festival provided a fitting backdrop for the presentation of the Excellence Award, as it celebrated the rich cultural heritage of the Igbo people. Governor Uzodimma’s recognition at this event underscores his dedication to excellence and his impact on the lives of Ndi Igbo both in Nigeria and in diaspora.
