The Eze Ndigbo and Chairman of ethnic traditional rulers in Lagos State, Eze Christian Nwachukwu, has stated that the Igbo have already chosen their Apex leader in APC in the person of Hon. Jude Idimogu, who is a member of Lagos State House of Assembly from Isolo/Oshodi Local Government area of the State.

P M.EXPRESS reports as disclosed by Eze Nwachukwu at the weekend at his Palace located at Igbo Community Centre in Okota, Lagos.

Nwachukwu, who holds the title of Ochiagha (war lord) in his home town, Obodoukwu, Imo State, said that the decision was sacrosanct because it was taken by all the Igbo Community leaders, traditional rulers and other stakeholders across the Wards and Local Government Areas in the State.

He stated that the decision was taken after appraisal of the ugly political situation the Igbo found themselves in Lagos State having given the past leaders the opportunity to lead the Igbo for over 21 years and nothing came out of it rather Igbo in Lagos were labeled as anti APC by implication against the ruling party in the State.

He explained that before the decision was carefully taken, so many things were considered especially on how the Igbo in Lagos State will embrace APC as their core political party in the State.

He explained that the arrogance of past Igbo leaders compounded APC woes because there was no connection with the grassroots from the Wards and Local Governments levels where the Igbo reside.

He stated that the Party leadership should commend the efforts of Hon. Idimogu and Igbo Community leaders to mobilize and bring Igbo into the ruling party in good numbers, which had eluded the Party for 21 years.

He reiterated that the mandate given to Hon. Idimogu was to go to the grassroots to mobilize the Igbo Community to join APC and he is meticulously doing the work and Igbo community are satisfied with the outcome because more Igbo are joining the party daily.

He said that sinc.e Hon. Idimogu was made the Apex Leader, the narrative has changed because the Igbo have embraced APC because they believe that Idimogu is trusted, honest and can lead the Igbo well for the interest of the Party in the State.

Eze Nwachukwu said that the Igbo nominated and presented Hon. Idimogu and that the Party leadership should work with him because he is trusted by Igbo in the State stressing that the Igbo were ready to work with Idimogu to position the Party properly for 2023.
