A teenager, Michael Hunton, admitted that he was a thief before a Court in Lagos but reacted that he was not the only thief as he was just a member of a gang.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that he pleaded guilty of stealing a phone and informed the Court that they were four members of a gang of traffic robbers that steal from people in Lagos.

Michael was handed three months imprisonment and remanded in prison custody after he pleaded guilty of stealing a phone. The convict was arrested after he and three of his members had snatched a phone belonging to Pastor Bassey Aniefiok at Orita area of Isolo, Lagos and escaped.
However, after they had robbed the clergyman, they were not satisfied that evening and they went to an eatery to steal but were eventually caught by the security men on duty.
They were detained for interrogation and Michael was asked to use the stolen phone to contact his relations as they had claimed that they were not criminals. It was then he confessed that he was not the owner of the phone. While there, the wife of Pastor Aniefiok called and one of the security men picked the call and the Pastor’s wife pleaded that only the phone’s sim card should be returned that they should take the phone.

It then that the security man, who picked the phone call, told the Pastor’s wife that they apprehended the suspects who stole the phone and that she should come to Isolo Police Station in order to collect it.
Pastor Aniefiok then went to the Police and collected his phone while Michael Hunton was charged before the Isolo Magistrate Court for stealing.
He pleaded guilty and told the Court that he was not the only person that was involved; that there were other criminals stealing in the State.
The prosecutor, Mr. Oje Uagbale, presented the fact of the matter and asked the Court to sentence him accordingly.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. A. Teluwo, found him culpable and sentenced him accordingly.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the Police have arrested two other members of the gang and they have been charged before the Court while one of the gang members was said to be at large.
