A 13-year old girl has confessed and exposed her biological father, Mfon Jeremiah, by informing her mother that the father had slept with her severally and she is now four months pregnant for him.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at FIRRO Estate off Adesan, Mowe area of Ogun State, where they reside.
The 39-year old Jeremiah has been arrested by men of the Ogun state Police Command for impregnating the victim and he is currently undergoing interrogation over the conduct.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed that he was in custody after he was arrested following a report lodged at Mowe Divisional Headquarters by the mother of the victim, who discovered that her daughter was pregnant.
Having suspected and found out that she was pregnant, the mother then asked her to know who was responsible. It was then the daughter informed her that it was her father who slept with her.
The Police spokesman stated that the victim was taken to the hospital for a pregnancy test, where the doctors confirmed that she is four months pregnant.
“Upon the report, the DPO Mowe Division, SP Folake Afeniforo, quickly detailed detectives to the suspect’s house, where he was promptly arrested.
“On interrogation, the suspect confessed being responsible for his daughter’s pregnancy, but claimed to be under a spell when he did it. He informed the Police that he was dreaming having sex with his wife, who had separated from him for some time now, only to discover that it was her daughter that he had sex with.”
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has directed that the suspect be transferred to Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The suspect, Jeremiah, risks several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty for the alleged offence but that will be after the conclusion of investigation by the Police.
