This is not really the best of time for the monarch of Isheri Olofin, Oba Wahabi Ayinde Balogun following the recent discovery by the Idimuland residents that he allegedly tendered fake documents in court for the creation of Isheri Olofin kingdom.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Balogun may be on the verge of loosing his throne and kingdom if the appropriate authorities wade into the matter and confirm the allegations as claimed by residents was true.
The embattled Balogun, according to the residents created Isheri Olofin kingdom fraudulently which originally was part of Idimuland before the alleged fraud.
P.M.EXPRESS also gathered that the Lagos State Government was equally misled and it recognized Isheri Olofin in error which has become an issue over land mass and geographical location between the two kingdoms in the area.
Consequently, the Idimuland Central Development Association comprising 87 Community Development Association and 650,000 residents have written a petitioned to the Inspector General of Police and the Chief Justice of Nigeria Federation and other relevant authority to investigate the Criminal allegations and bring Balogun to book.
In a petition dated 21 July, 2017 obtained by P.M.EXPRESS, the residents through the Idimuland Committee of the CDA alleged that Balogun and his cohorts namely Mutairu Owoeye, Idris Balogun, Waheed Balogun, Said Olowu, Isiaka Ayinde and others have being causing violence, threatening the residents and destroying their properties and took over their land because of the alleged judgment he obtained through the fake documents.
The residents alleged and regrets that Balogun’s alleged intimidation and harassment over the land stern from the facts he obtained judgment at the Lagos High court with alleged forged documents deliberately distorted, used to misled the learned Justice Akapo Lawal.
They alleged the judgment have since been appealed at the Appeal court yet they continue to cause mayhem in the area.
In the petition, the residents claimed that the original settlers acknowledged that there was Isheri- Idimu in Idimuland and not Isheri-Olofin as recorded by Intelligent Report before 1842 but the Judge was mislead by Balogun by tendering distorted and forged Nigeria Intelligent Report on Lagos, Ikeja Colony that ceded Isheri Idimuland to Balogun as Isheri Olofin in 1980 Lagos State Gazette that never existed.
This has become an issue as there seem to be no boundary as Balogun was now claiming almost Idimuland to extinction thereby putting their investment and property of the residents in jeopardy.
It was gathered that Balogun allegedly mobilized men suspected to be hired thugs demanding N6m per plot of land and collecting their property forcefully and reselling them including the property of a serving Senator in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
How Balogun managed to misled the Justice Lawal was still a mystery despite the facts that the distorted Intelligent Report was altered with pen in the papers he tendered in court for judgment.
They alleged that the judgment on exhibit P16 which Justice lawal relied on in given judgment was a fake document which Balogun reportedly altered.
“Therefore the kingdom was null and void because one cannot build something on nothing” the residents reasoned.
The residents wondered how Balogun had royal lineage as Lagos State Gazzette and Ikeja Local Government identified him as “Mr’ between 1969 and 1970 but another Lagos Government Gazette him as prince and King in 1984.
Meanwhile, the NJC has indicated its readiness to investigate the weighty allegations through a letter sent to the residents to that effect.
When our reporter visited the Oba Balogun’s Palace, the reporter was told that they were not aware of the petition and the Monarch was indisposed to speak to the press on the issue.
Meanwhile the residents were lamented that the officials of Egbe-Idimu, LCDA, have being terrorizing the residents forcefully acquiring their property in collaboration with Balogun and his cohorts.
