Dare-devil armed robbers on Tuesday attacked Libra Motors commercial bus, killed the driver and robbed 14 passengers on board at gun point.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at about 2pm at Okada junction area along Benin- Ore expressway while the bus was enroute to the eastern part of the country.
According eye witnesses, the bus which loaded passengers at Iyana Ipaja, Lagos was going to the east with the passengers before they got to the scene, where the robber ambushed them with guns.

They reportedly shot in the air to force the driver to stop, so that they can rob the passengers.
It was gathered that the driver whose identity was not yet disclosed was flagged down by the armed robbers but he decided to risk the movement to escape. However, as the driver attempted to maneuver to escape, the gunmen targeted and shot him and he died at the spot.
The bus was forced to stop on the road by the injured driver who by then was bleeding profusely. The robbers then ordered the passengers to come out one by one, searched their luggage and took cash and other valuables they had with them.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the robbers also came with POS which they used to transfer money from the passengers ATM cards to their account and escaped.
After the operation that lasted for over 45 minutes, the robbers returned to the bush. It was then that the passengers who did not sustain injuries moved to save the life of the driver and other passengers who had sustained injuries and rushed them to a hospital. But by then the driver was already dead because he had lost so much blood. The doctors certified him dead while other passengers who sustained injuries were admitted and were still receiving treatment at the undisclosed hospital.

When our reporter contacted the management of Libra Motors Company, one of the managers confirmed the incident.
The manager however said that they do not have the full details yet but have sent their staff to access the situation.
