A jilted 44-year old man, Gbenga Oluwatomisin, has been arrested and arraigned before the Iyaganku Chief Magistrate Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly sending an explicit sex video with his estranged lover to her new husband.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the video revealed his intimate encounters with the lady probably intended to destroy the marriage.
The prosecutor, Inspector Sikiru Opaleye, told the Court that the defendant allegedly conspired with others now at large to carry out the act on 7th January, 2025, and Oluwatomisin’s actions led to a potential public disturbance by allegedly sending the explicit video and voice recordings to the husband of his former lover, Kehinde Olayiwola.
The prosecutor explained that Kehinde and Toyese Olayiwola had initially separated due to personal differences, during which Toyese became involved with Oluwatomisin.
However, after some time, Kehinde and Toyese reconciled and resumed living together, but Oluwatomisin reportedly sought to continue his relationship with her, which she refused.
In response, Oluwatomisin allegedly sent the explicit video and voice recordings of their affair to Toyese’s husband, using the phone number 08129427990.
The prosecutor noted that the alleged offenses took place in the Idi-Iroko area of Amuloko, Ibadan, and violated Sections 249 (d) and 517 of the Oyo State Criminal Code Laws of 2000.
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty.
His counsel, Mr. Idowu Adekoya, asked the Court to grant the defendant bail on liberal conditions.
The Presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Olabisi Ogunkanmi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000, with one surety in like sum, who must be a close relative of the defendant.
The matter was adjourned till 25th March, 2025, for hearing while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
