CYRIACUS IZUEKWE
A 33-year old lady has been arrested after he trapped and tricked a man and obtained over N600,000 under false pretence in Lagos.
The incident happened at Ilupeju area of Lagos where the lady, Oladapo Damilola met the victim, Musibau Makanjuola.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that Damilola and Makanjuola engaged in an undisclosed transaction and in the process, the suspect obtained the money and escaped.
When our correspondent attempted to find out what kind of transaction that went on between the suspect and victim, none of them was willing to disclose. Even the police declined to disclose what happened and asked the reporter to wait till on the trial date.
The refusal to disclose what transpired by the parties concerned gave the impression that the transaction might have been a shady deal they wanted to keep away from the public.
However, Damilola was arraigned before the Ikeja Magistrates court for conspiracy and stealing.
She pleaded not guilty.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.O. Shomade granted Damilola bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akeem Raji did not object the bail condition.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 9 April, 2018.
When P.M.EXPRESS contacted Damilola at the court, she declined to speak but asked the correspondent to go and ask the complainant the kind of transaction they had between them.
