Lagos @50: Atlanta-Lagos Sister Cities Committee Felicitates With Ambode

Atlanta- Lagos Sister Cities Committee has felicitated with Lagos State Government, the good people of Lagos and Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on the 50 years anniversary of the Centre of Excellence, Lagos State.

According to the Secretary General of Atlanta- Lagos Sister Cities Committee, Bashiru Adewunmi Agunloye, Lagos State under the administration of Governor Ambode who marked his second year in office has recorded unprecedented achievements in many areas such as road infrastructure development, provision of heath facilities, basic primary education and many others.

“Our organization noticed the achievements of the state government in other areas such as using (T.H.E.S.E) strategy for Lagos State Social Development which represent Tourism, Hospitality, Entertainment and Sports for Excellence).

“There is no doubt that Lagos under the administration of Ambode is making steady progress’” Agunloye said.

 

“This 50 years anniversary of Lagos State is worthy of celebration by all and because Lagos is contributing hugely to the success of Nigeria as a nation. Lagos represents Nigeria because all tribes are represented in the state.

“If what is happening in Lagos in terms of infrastructure development is replicate in all the states in Nigeria, the country will be more better and more attractive to foreign investors.

“We urged the Governor not to relent in his effort to do more as Lagos is systematically becoming Dubai of Africa.

“Our organization is ready to collaborate with the state government to facilitate more developmental projects to the state. We are ready to support the state government in many areas through our counterpart in Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America under the auspices of Atlanta Sister Cities Commission,” he said.

“Atlanta- Lagos Sister Cities Committee is an affiliate of Atlanta Sister Cities Commission, we are the custodian of the twin cities relationship that was consummated in 1972 between the cities of Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America and Lagos, Nigeria.

“The relationship spans but not limited to cultural, education, health, environment, trade and other numerous developmental areas of endeavour.
