Egyptian players have proved that they are powerhouse of Squash in the world today judging from their performance at the about to be concluded Lagos International Squash Classics.
The tournament, which served off on Monday, will end on Saturday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. The championship is proudly sponsored by the Lagos State Government through Lagos State Sports Commission and organized by Lagos State Squash Association in conjunction with Nigeria Squash Federation.
PM EXPRESS gathered that the female match will herald the finals from 1pm.
The finals, in both male and female categories, will be played by Egyptian players, as they were able to scale the hurdles of semi finals in the matches decided on Friday.
Menna Nasser of Egypt beat Nigeria’s Yemisi Olatunji 3-1 in one of the semi final ties, while Selma Youssef of Egypt defeated Eva Fertekova of Czech Republic 3-1. Nasser will play Youssef in Saturday’s women final.
In the men’s semi finals, Karim El Hammany beat Angus Gillams of England in 3-1 game, while Ahmed Hosny defeated compatriot Muhammed Redan 3-2. El Hammany in Saturday’s final.
