The Special Adviser, Office of Civic Engagement, Princess Aderemi Adebowale, has called on corporate organisations, particularly Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage manufacturing companies and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in the healthcare sector to support the State Government’s efforts on the Mother, Infant and Child (M.I.C.H) Programme.

Adebowale made this call while on a working visit to the corporate office of Jawa Group of Companies at Oshodi to formalise the partnership arrangement between the State Government and the company on the M.I.C.H initiative.

She reiterated that nowhere in the world can any government meet the demand and needs of its citizens; hence there is a constant need to partner with private individuals and corporate organisations to care for children, who will grow to become civically responsible and contribute to the socio-economic development of the State.

The Special Adviser, on behalf of the State Government, expressed gratitude to Jawa Group of Companies for partnering on the M.I.C.H programme, assuring that the benefits accruable from the partnership would be judiciously used at boosting neonatal brain development from conception to birth.

According to her, the initiative will also assist indigent expectant mothers living below the poverty level in Lagos State to ensure they have all nutritional needs to aid cognitive development and immunity against some killer diseases in children.

In his remarks, the General Manager (Marketing), Jawa Group of Company, Mr. Kapoor Surinder, stated that the company is partnering with the Office of Civic Engagement on the Mother, Infant and Child (MICH) programme as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

He stated that the company has been in operation for over 22 years producing drugs for children and the vulnerable in society, assuring that the company would continue to support the M.I.C.H programme with their products in all its phases as part of efforts to give back to society.

Recall that Jawa Group had hitherto donated 1000 packs of Multivitamins Capsules in support of the MICH programme.
