<em><strong>The late Sodiq Martins</strong></em>
The leadership and all members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Lagos State Chapter, deeply mourn the passing of our dear colleague and member, Sodiq Martins, who died after a brief illness early on Friday.
Lagos SWAN said in a statement signed by the secretary, Omotunde Bello on Friday that the demise of Sodiq Martins was a painful loss to the sports journalism family in Lagos.
“We remember him for his dedication, professionalism, and the positive impact he made within the association. His contributions and warm personality will be greatly missed.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, friends, colleagues, and all who are grieving this irreparable loss. We pray that Almighty God grants them the strength and fortitude to bear this painful loss and grants the departed eternal rest.
“May the Almighty God comfort the family and loved ones of our late colleague, Sodiq Martins, and continue to guide and protect them during this difficult time,” the statement said.
