Lai Muhammed, Kalu, Obasa, Others Identifies With TimelineNG At Inaugural Lecture

The duo of Dr Larry Izamoje, seasoned broadcaster and Chairman, Brila FM, and Mr Olumide Wole-Madariola, Security scholar and President, Nigeria Shooting Federation gave a good account of themselves as speakers at the Public Lecture organised by Timeline Awareness Initiative and TimelineNG website in Lagos recently.

The event, held at the Banquet Hall of Sheraton Hotels in Ikeja, according to the organizers was put together to further enlighten the public on better and judicious use of social media to tackle some of the myriad of challenges the country is presently confronted with.

Speaking on the theme: “Relevance of Social Media As A Tool In Reviving A Recessed Economy And Security Challenges,” Dr Izamoje spoke extensively on the Economy aspect and held the audience firmly with fact, figures and references to drive home points.

On his part, Madariola was also up to the task dishing out verifiable facts on how best Nigeria can harness benefits of the new media in tackling many security situation the country has found itself

The organiser also used the occasion to officially introduce its website www.timelineng.com to the public with a well crafted and creative inspirational artwork frame with the inscription ‘TimelineNG’.

According to the website’s editor-in-chief Yusuf Adeoye, the medium has come to stay and to redirect how online media should be in terms objectivity and fairness in reportage.

The inaugural lecture which attracted prominent Nigerians including Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Muhammed, who was unavoidably absent due to urgent national assignment in Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia, but sent his apology and word of encouragement to the organizer.

The event which was streamed live on social media also attracted Former Governor of Abia State,  Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, who was represented by Dr Micheal Pinder; Senator Adeola Olamilekan (Yayi); Speaker Lagos House of Assembly, Rt. Mudashiru Obasa; Hon. Babajimi Benson, Representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, House of Reps; Hon Tunde Braimoh; Hon Kayode Amusan; Mrs Quincy Ayodele; Stephen Omamuli, CEO, Class Hospitality, Nollywood actress cum Politician, Funke Adesiyan among many others.

The event was anchor by popular comedian Koffi, The Guru.
