The police have arrested a 65-year old landlord, Mr Owolabi Ajanaku for allegedly stealing his tenant’s generating set after it was recovered from the buyer who implicated him.

The incident happened at Ajibade Street in Itire where Ajanaku owned a house.

Ajanaku was arrested along with his accomplice, Kabiru Musa and the buyer, Muyideen Shodipe and were charged before a Lagos court for conspiracy and stealing.

They have been remanded in prison custody after they were arraigned before Isolo Magistrates court, Lagos.

P.M. EXPRESS reports that Ajanaku went where his tenant, Augustine Geoffrey kept his Sumec Fireman generator worth N38,000 and gave it to Musa to go and sell.

It was gathered that Musa sold it to Shodipe who resides at Bamishile Street in Idi Araba area where the generator was recovered from Shodipe.

P.M.EXPRESS learnt Ajanaku landed in trouble when Shodipe was arrested and detained at Itire Police Division where he implicated Musa who was also arrested and he mentioned Ajanaku’s name.

The landlord was then arrested and he admitted he stole the generator and gave it to Musa who brought N4,000 to him because the owner was his tenant.

The three suspects were then charged before Isolo Magistrates court for the alleged offence under the Criminal Code.

While Ajanaku and Musa were charged for conspiracy and stealing, Shodipe was charged for buying stolen item.

They all pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mr A.O. Ogbe granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.

They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail condition.
