A 40-year old landlord’s daughter, Omolara Jimoh, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly threatening the life of their tenant, Odunayo Oluwatosin, by locking up his toilet and cutting off electricity supply to his apartment in order to force him to move out from the apartment.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at No. 10 Olainukan Street, Fagbile Phase Three, Ijegun area of Lagos, where the tenant, Oluwatosin rented an apartment.

Police operatives from the Isheri Oshun Division have arrested the landlord’s daughter, Omolara and charged her for the unruly conduct.

According to the Police, Omolara had a disagreement with the tenant and she started threatening him with violence. She then went and locked his toilet in order to block him from using it and as well cut off electricity supply to his apartment.

The matter was reported to the Police; she was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over her alleged conduct. She admitted to have done so in order to force the complainant to vacate his apartment.

After interrogation, the Police found her culpable and subsequently charged her before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace, which is punishable under the Law.

However, she pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.

The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu-Uthman, granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.

The matter was adjourned till 11th October, 2023, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
