The operatives of Federal Special Anti- Robbery Squad, FSARS, have arrested two lovers, a 26-year old Miss Angela Williams and her 27-year old lover, Gbolahan Olayinka for their alleged involvement in a robbery operation at the popular Aso Rock hotel in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the suspects were apprehended after they sold their loot to a businessman, Amusad Ladan who was also arrested in connection with the robbery incident.
It was gathered that the lovers went to the hotel located at Abaranje Road in Ikotun area of Lagos and robbed a customer, one Ige David who was in the hotel to relax and escaped with his gold necklace and the cash they found on him. The value of the items they took away was put to about N900,000 belonging to the victim.
The matter was reported to the FSARS who tracked and arrested one Amusad Ladan at Abule Egba area with the stolen gold necklace belonging to the victim, David. It was recovered as exhibit and kept at Ikeja Command.
The buyer, Ladan was taken to the FSARS office where he was interrogated and he confessed that it was Olayinka and Williams that sold it to him.
The three suspects were charged before Ikeja Magistrates court for conspiracy and stealing.
They pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi granted them bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 19 April, 2019.
