A 25-year-old man, Abubakar Ibrahim, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend, Rose Bassey, four times inside a hotel room over sex.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 26th April, 2026, at about 2200hrs at De Twins Hotel located at Oladunmi Street, Raboil, Meiran, Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect,
Abubakar, stabbed the victim four times with a knife and the victim sustained injuries on her jaw, ear, arm, and stomach during the attack.
However, the victim raised alarm which attracted the attention of the management. She was then rescued and rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The matter was reported to the Police at Meiran Division. The suspect was then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable for stabbing the complainant severally over sex and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
Legal experts say if convicted, Abubakar faces several years in prison under the Lagos State Law.
The charges read:
COUNT I: “That you, Abubakar Ibrahim, “M” on 26th April, 2026, at about 2200hrs at De Twins Hotel No 4, Oladunmi Street, Raboil, Meiran, Lagos State, Nigeria, did unlawfully inflict wound on one Rose Bassey “F” and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 246 of Criminal Law of Lagos State Nigeria 2015.”

However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
