A 32-year old man, Chigozie Ojinika, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly lured a 28-year old lady into sex romp by forcefully penetrating her and injuring her in the process.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Ojinika, has been arrested over the alleged conduct.
The incident happened at Apena Street, Ojuelgba area of Surulere, Lagos State.
According to Police sources, the suspect lured the lady into an apartment and forcefully engaged her in the act but the Police did not state how he raped the victim, who is an adult.
The lady was said to have gone to the Police and reported that she was raped. The suspect was then arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Command for interrogation over the allegation.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
However, when he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea following a motion by the prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice since both are adult.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered his remand in custody pending when the DPP’s report will be ready and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
