The Police in Lagos State have arrested a 36-year old man, Mutiu Akinfenwa, for allegedly molesting his 12-year old daughter by using his fingers to penetrate her in order to satisfy his sexual desire.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Victory Road, Ajasa Command area of Lagos, where they reside.
The mother of the girl, who is his wife, had separated from him and left the girl in his care before he started molesting her.
However, the act was exposed by her daughter and he was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation.
At the Gender Section, he was said to have told the Police that he never used his dick to molest her because he knew she was his daughter and that was why he used only his fingers on her private part.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged before the Ogba Court for sexual assault by penetration.
When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. A. Ajibade, ordered his remand in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s report.
The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP while the defendant will remain in custody pending the outcome of DPP’s report, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
The matter was adjourned till 9th December, 2021, for mention for the availability of the report from the DPP.
