A 40-year old man, Daniel Chibuike, who climbed MTN mast in order to jump from there and die due to frustration, is now regretting being rescued, blaming the Police for worsening his condition in Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 27th October, 2021, at Ogundairo Close, Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos.
The residents woke up in the morning and saw the man, Chibuike, on top of the telecommunication mast preparing to jump from there. It was gathered that he was frustrated and believed the option left was for him to end his life. He then climbed the MTN mast and was about to jump from there before the residents raised the alarm.

The residents contacted the Police, who eventually prevailed on him not to jump from there and asked him to come down with promises, which later turned out to be a hoax.

Following their persuasion, he changed his mind, came down and was subsequently arrested. He was later transferred to SCID Panti, Yaba, for failed attempted suicide mission.

The reason, which made Chibuike to have wanted to commit suicide was not disclosed by the Police but found his action culpable and then charged him before the Ebute Metta Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.

He pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector Abdul Sanusi, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove he actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. F F. George, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The matter was adjourned but was remanded in correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
