A 43-year old man, Ayodeji Oderinu, who was arrested for luring a 12-year old girl, penetrating her and eventually defiled her, has told the Police in Lagos that the girl was into it before as he penetrated her easily with her consent.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Idris Street, Igando area of Lagos, where they reside.
According to Police sources, the suspect lured the girl to his apartment and engaged her in sex before they were caught. He was handed over to the Police operatives from Gender Section in Ikeja, Lagos, for further investigation.
During interrogation, Oderinu reportedly informed the Police that the girl has been sleeping with men and that was why he did so and she did not feel any pain during the act.
However, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement which attracts life imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.
When he arraigned, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Ezekiel Ayorinde, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, directed that he should be remanded in prison custody and directed the Prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The defendant will remain in custody pending the outcome of DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court over jurisdiction.
