Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested a 43-year old man, Paul Ndedigwe, for allegedly defiling three of his neighbours under age girls at the same time.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ifelodun Street, Amukoko area of Lagos, where the suspect resides with the girls parents.
His action has caused serious ripples in the area as the residents suspected he may have done so to other girls before he was eventually caught.
According to Police sources, the suspect lured the girls aged, 6, 7 and 12, to his apartment and allegedly defiled them by penetrating their private parts.
However, the information leaked, which caused panic in the area and parents started checking to know the number of young girls, who may have been defiled by the suspect, Ndedigiwe.
The alleged sexual assault on the girls was reported to the Police in the area and he was arrested. He was later transferred to the SCID, Yaba, Lagos, for interrogation over the alleged offence.
During interrogation, he reportedly admitted and claimed that he was tempted to do so and felt sorry for what he had done.
Having been found culpable by the Police, he was charged before the Ebute Metta Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea and ordered his remand in custody after the prosecutor, Inspector Olatunde Kehinde, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate did not grant him bail and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP while adjourned the matter to 8th March, 2022, for report of the DPP to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
