Man, 45, Remanded In Custody For Allegedly Defiling Neighbour’s Daughter, 7

A 45-year old man, Isaac Uche, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s 7-year old daughter and was exposed by the victim. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 1st October, 2025, at Alade Raji Street, By Ile-Ibadan B/Stop, Ijegun Road, Ikotun- Lagos where they reside.

 

According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim to his apartment and forcefully engaged her in sex by penetration. Having satisfied himself, he allowed her to go and warned her not to tell anyone about it.

 

However, the victim informed her parents about what happened and the matter was reported to the Police at Ikotun Division. The suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct against the victim.

 

After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charge read:

“That you, Isaac Uche ‘m’ on the 1st day of October 2025 at No 45, Alade Raji Street, by Ile-Ibadan B/Stop, Ijegun Road, Ikotun- Lagos State, between 0730hrs. and 0800hrs in the Lagos Magisterial District, did sexually assault the victim ‘f 7years old by penetrating her vagina with your manhood and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 261, of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.”

 

However, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, moved a motion asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
