Police operatives from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, Lagos, have arrested a 52-year old man, Tony Onyeagoro, for alleged sexually molesting his 14-year old daughter by stripping himself naked and attempting to rape her.
P.M.EXPRESS reports the incident happened at Simon Aniako Street, Abaranje area of Ikotun, Lagos, where the suspect resides with their five children.
He is currently held in Police custody undergoing interrogation over the conduct following a petition written to the Police by his embattled wife, Mrs. Blessing Tony, asking the Police to prosecute him so that she and her children would have peace in the family.
However, there was a twist in the whole matter during the investigation as the daughter was taken to Mirabel Center for medical test. It was discovered that the victim had already been defiled through penetration.
The girl’s mother, Mrs. Blessing Tony, informed the Police that her husband had been caught while he stripped self naked and made several attempts to rape the daughter unsuccessfully because she kept watch over the children since she noticed his plans four years ago.
But contrarily, the victim claimed that she had never seen her father’s nakedness, neither has he penetrated her but admitted that her father had made six failed attempts.
The revelations by the victim further complicated the matter, which prompted the Police to further investigate to find out who actually defiled the victim since she claimed that her father had never succeeded.
To get to the root of the matter, the Police withdrew the victim from her mother and kept her in protective custody for further investigation to know who actually defiled her since she said that her father had never penetrated her.
According to Police sources, apart from her father, the victim has mentioned two suspects behind the act, which the Police were said to be working on how to apprehend them.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the marriage between Mrs. Blessing and her estranged husband, Tony, nosedived after Tony sold some parcels of land in the area against her wish, as she had insisted that the properties should not be sold because Tony had children.
But Tony ignored her and eventually sold half of the property for N12m, gave the wife only N2.5m and allegedly squandered the remaining money.
The fight became intense after the wife got information that  Tony was said to be planning to sell the remaining land, where Mrs. Blessing was living with their five children.
That may have led to the constant quarreling and beatings between Tony and Blessing and some issues started coming up including the allegations that has landed Tony in Police custody.
