He robbed him of the money and handsets. He was arrested in the process of escaping.

Our correspondent gathered from the victim that, while the suspect  pointed the gun to him, he cooperated but was suspecting that the gun might not be a real gun.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that while Odu was about to escape with the money, the victim picked courage and raised alarm and he started running, but he was pursued, and with the help of the residents, Odu was apprehended.

When the gun was recovered from him, it was discovered that it was a toy gun and he had some native charms on him.

The money was recovered from him and he was handed over to the Lagos State Anti-robbery Squad, SARS who detained him at the police headquarters in Ikeja.

During interrogation, Odu confessed that he had never used real gun to rob except the toy gun and the native charms.

He was arraigned before Ikeja Magistrate’s court where he pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Layinka granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in the like sum.

He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
