Man Kills Wife’s Secret Lover

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 25-year old man, Ajibade Olumuyiwa, for allegedly killing his wife’s secret lover, one Olakitan Balogun, in Ogun State.

The incident was said to have happened at Doland Estate in Ajuwon area of Ogun State where Ajibade lives with his family.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Ajibade had set a trap for his wife who brought the late Balogun into their matrimonial home. When Ajibade got information, he returned to the house and met Balogun. He reportedly attacked and eventually killed him.

This was disclosed by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police.
According to the PPRO, Ajibade was arrested following a distress call received by the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Ajuwon Division, from residents of Doland Estate that a man had murdered his wife’s side man right inside his house.
Consequently, the police moved into action, arrested Ajibade and detained him at the police station.
During interrogation, Ajibade explained that he came back to his house in the middle of the night and met the deceased right inside the house with his wife. He said he was infuriated as he sighted his wife’s secret lover and he then attacked the man. In the process, he hit the man’s head against the wall which led to his death.
However, the wife denied having an affair with the deceased. She said that her husband had abandoned her in the house for the past eight months with an instruction to the gate man to monitor her and pass information if he saw her with any man.
She stated further that the victim was a cobbler leaving within the area and not her lover as alleged. She said on the day the incident took place, that the deceased’s girlfriend came to pay him visit and since he was not living alone, he decided to bring the girl to a room in the house due to his closeness to the family.
“As soon as the gateman saw the cobbler, he alerted my husband who rushed to the house and descended heavily on the deceased without listening to any explanation from me and the deceased’s girlfriend” she said.
Meanwhile, the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination while the suspect, Ajibade, has been transferred to the Homicide Department of the SCIID for further investigation.
