A business man, Augustine Akiri, is now licking his wounds after he reportedly paid the sum of N6.5m to a female spiritualist in Lagos in order to boost his business and it eventually collapsed.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the alleged fraud took place at Olaoluwa Street in Ajasa area of Lagos, where the spiritualist resides and does her spiritual jobs.
It was gathered that the victim, Augustine, was into marketing business and contacted the suspect to assist him spiritually in order to boost his business. The woman accepted and demanded the money in question promising him that his business will flourish exceedingly after the spiritual job.
The victim reportedly raised the money, gave to her and she was said to have performed the works which turned out to be a scam.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that after the purported spiritual works, Augustine Akiri’s business nosedived instead and eventually collapsed. It was then he realised that he was actually duped and he went to the Police to report the alleged fraud.
The Police from Area P Command, Ipaja, then trailed, arrested the suspect and took her to the Command for investigation.

After interrogation, she was found culpable and was asked to refund the money but she claimed that she had spent it.

She was then charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence and she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Ezekiel Ayorinde, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted her bail with conditions and ordered her to be remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail.
The matter was adjourned till 21st October, 2019.
