CYRIACUS IZUEKWE

A 27-year old man, Ndubusi Kanu, who allegedly specialised in selling Indian hemp to criminals inside Police cell has been arrested in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Kanu, was caught with some substances suspected to be Indian hemp while taking them at night to the criminals inside the Police cell  at Area G, Command, Ogba, Lagos.

How the suspect, Kanu, was able to summon courage to take the substances to the cell inside the Police Command was still a surprise to many, who believed he may have done it with the aid of an insider.

According to sources at the Area G Command, such sharp practices had been going on there once such suspects can afford the bill and the Area Commander may not know what was going on at night.

However, he was unlucky on 29th July, 2021, when a no nonsense officer was on duty and he was immediately arrested for his conduct at the Command.

He was interrogated, found culpable and subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court.

He pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Supol Victor Eruada, asked the Court to give a short adjournment for hearing to enable the Police to prove he actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.F. Oshikoya, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He was remanded in Correctional Centre pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 9th September, 2021, for mention.
