I was a witness to the making of Aare Amuagun of Ado Ekiti on Saturday and the glamour that was associated with the ceremony. That day, I beat my chest as a proud Igbo man that we have a leader that knows his onions in Obiano. I stood aghast when I was faced with uncountable crowd of Igbo extraction that trooped out en masse just to have a glimpse of Ebubedike Ndigbo. I was almost gasping in amazement the level of respect, blissful welcome and the general acceptance of Dikeora Ndigbo by the Yoruba ruling dynasty led by Ooni of Ife.

When I was listening to the speech of Ewi of Ado Ekiti as witnessed by Ndi Igwe Anambra ably led by His Royal Majesty Dr. Alfred Achebe, Obi of Onitsha, I was awed at what a king from a foreign land got to say about our own Akpokuodike. In his words, Kabiyesi described Akpokuodike as a man who got balls to chase criminals back to their caves. Kabiyesi elucidated how Anambra State was being described as a high risk zone for both businessman and tourists. He narrated how his subjects were harassed, beaten and robbed in Anambra whenever they came for business expedition. He lectured us on how Governor Obiano shielded Anambra from the adverse effects of recession. Kabiyesi made us to understand Akpokuodike as a man who has a date with destiny. He described Akpokuodike as the diamond in the sky.

When Ooni of Ife started his libations, he lacked words to describe whom the peoples governor is. He prayed for the high Heavens to open up for Akpokuodike to receive the blessings prepared for him, even before the foundation of this world was laid. Ooni made us to understand that Anambra is a blessed state. He said that any weapon fashioned against the state, the Governor, the family and the entire people of Anambra state under Willie M. Obiano’s watch was bound to fail. I traced Ooni’s prayers to the security stunts pulled by some funny individuals in order to mess up Obiano’s security arrangements. My questions still remains “Did They Succeed?”.

For those of us who were paid to make mess of the while event, my query is ” Why Are You Looking For The Holy Spirit In A Mosque?” That is a wrong arrangement!

Wise up guys! Do not be used to achieve certain selfish gains. It won’t pay you.
