WBF champion, Bash Ali
A Magistrate Court in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja has declared the World Boxing Federation, WBF, cruiserweight champion, Bash Ali, OON, a free man in the case brought against him by the management of NEXIM Bank and the Commissioner of Police in Abuja.
The judgement of the case has been postponed on a number of occasions. The suit was a trumped up charge of illegal trespass instituted against the boxer by NEXIM Bank and the Commissioner of Police before Senior Magistrate Abibat Bello at Dutse Alhaji, Abuja.
In her judgement earlier today, the judge said that the prosecution failed to prove its case against the boxing Ambassador beyond reasonable doubt and had to struck it out.
An elated Bash Ali told PM EXPRESS that “Today, July 24, 2017; the prosecution could not prove a prima facie case against me so the court on its own (suo moto) upheld a no case submission and discharged the case. I was represented by Barrister Collins Shaka-Momodu from Tony Agborlahor Chambers.”
Ali, the Ajagungbade of Ibadanland, who began his sports career as a wrestler but turned boxer in the United States of America, and now gunning to become the oldest boxer to win world boxing title in the forthcoming Guinness Book of World Record Championship, happily told his fans and admirers that “they will all fail. I thank Nigerians for their support. I appreciate all of you. We, the bold and fearless Nigerians, must reclaim the country from the corrupts in order to make the country great again.”
Meanwhile, the judgement in the N1 billion case instituted against the Minister of Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung and the Inspector General of Police by Bash Ali will be delivered on 2 September in Abuja
