Nigerian Bottling Company Bags Sustainability Awards At 2026 Industry Summit And Awards

Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) Ltd., has bagged two sustainability awards; Best in Circular Economy and the Most Impactful Sustainability Campaign of the Year at the 2026 Industry Summit and Awards held on Friday, April 17 at Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The Industry Summit and Awards brought together stakeholders from across sectors to recognise organisations contributing to sustainable development and environmental responsibility in Nigeria.

According to the organisers, the Best in Circular Economy award recognises NBC’s efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle packaging across its operations.

The Most Impactful Sustainability Campaign of the Year award highlights the company’s initiatives aimed at promoting responsible waste management practices among consumers, businesses and communities.

Speaking at the event, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Director of NBC Ltd., Soromidayo George, said the awards reflect the company’s deliberate and sustained commitment to embedding sustainability at the core of its operations.

George added that sustainability is increasingly shaping the organisation’s overall direction rather than being treated as a standalone function, noting that partnerships and innovation have played a central role in the company’s progress.

“These recognitions reflect what happens when sustainability stops being a department and starts being a direction. Sustainability is no longer a standalone function for us; it’s embedded in how we operate, with partnerships and innovation driving our progress,” she said.

In recent years, Nigerian Bottling Company has invested in initiatives such as plastic collection hubs and strategic partnerships aimed at improving recycling rates and advancing circular economy practices.

These efforts continue to support broader conversations around waste management and environmental sustainability in Nigeria.
