The President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Solomon Aguene, has commended the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and described him as a man of great intelligence and strong believer in the rule of law in trying to resolve crises among the Igbo, which later turned bloody.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Aguene stated this on the heels of  Governor Sanwo-Olu’s stand on the Court Judgment during a reconciliation meeting between Chief Aguene and Chief Sunday Ossai’s group at Marina, Lagos.
Narrating what transpired during the meeting, Aguene, through his Chief of staff, Chief Thompson Ohia, stated that the decision of the Governor angered Ossai’s group, which led to the attack and vandalization of Chief Aguene’s Range Rover SUV because all their lies on the social media failed like pack of cards.
Chief Ohia explained that Aguene, prior to the meeting held last Sunday, had an earlier discussion with the Governor over the meeting and Ossai’s group was also contacted for possible reconciliation. In the protocol list, each group was mandated to bring 10 representatives but Ossai came with over 40 people but only 10 were allowed to attend the meeting while the rest were outside waiting for the outcome of the meeting.
“During the meeting, they told the Governor and his team all manners of lies unknown to them that the Gov Sanwo-Olu is more intelligent than all of them and knows the rule of law very well” Ohia said.
He stated that when Aguene, through his lawyer, presented his own side of what happened and the Court Judgment, the Governor acknowledged, took the judgment and said that he will send it to the State Attorney General to look into it and advise him properly because it has to do with legality between Aguene and Ossai who is the authentic Ohanaeze President.
When the Governor rounded up the meeting and promised to call for another one when he will give the verdict, it did not go down well with Ossai’s group having known that the judgment of the Court will favour Aguene as the authentic President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State as they did not even appeal the judgment. It became glaring that they may have lost the battle and all the money they spent to conduct their kangaroo election may have been wasted. Besides, there was no way the Governor will discard the substantive Lagos State High Court judgement because he believes in the rule of law. So Chief Ossai and his group resorted to violence.
According to Chief Thompson Ohia, the meeting later turned bloody after one of the women that followed Ossai, Mrs. Nelly from Ejigbo LCDA, hit Chief Aguene on his chest in order to cause breach of public peace. But through the intervention of security men on ground, Chief Aguene went inside his vehicle and tried leave the venue.
However, as his driver was about to move, one Don Chris, who had sponsored Chief Ossai during their kangaroo election,  having realised that he has lost the money spent during the election, became frustrated and used his hand to break the back glass of Chief Aguene’s SUV. The damaged glass injured his hand and he was said to have bled profusely before he was rushed to the hospital, where he eventually collapsed due to loss of too much blood.
Chief Ohia explained that Don Chris was frustrated because of huge amount of money he was swindled by the members of the cabals within the Igbo circle, who had promised to make Chief Ossai the President of Ohanaeze and it turned out to be a hoax.
As at the time of filing this report, Don Chris was still lying in the undisclosed hospital as doctors were said to be battling to save him while the woman behind the whole crisis, Mrs. Nelly, was said to be at large.
