Not minding interventions from Ojoto town and Anambra State indigenes in Lagos to persuade Chief Emmanuel Ubah(Otunba Ojoto) to step down for Chief Leonard Okafor (Oba Ojoto) before the Ohanaeze Ndigbo election, he was said to have refused but has now bowed to higher political prowess of Oba Ojoto.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Otunba Ojoto has finally congratulated the newly elected Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos President, Chief Leo Okafor, and called for unity and focus on the welfare of Ndigbo.
This was contained in the congratulatory message he personally signed, which is trending on the social media after Oba Ojoto defeated him with a wide margin.
He state: “I, Chief Emmanuel Ubah, Otunba Ojoto, wish to congratulate my brother, the newly elected President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Leo Okafor, (Oba Ojoto), on his victory. Your emergence is a victory for unity and progress of Ndigbo in Lagos State”.
“I also want to thank the past president, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, Chairmen of all the local councils, stakeholders, Ndieze, all my supporters and the entire Ndigbo community in Lagos State for their support and encouragement during my journey in pursuit of becoming the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State.”
“I therefore, call on all my supporters to rally behind the new leadership in the interest of peace, unity and development. The election has come and gone. What remains most important is the collective responsibility to work together for the advancement of Ndigbo in Lagos State.”
“To my brother, the election is over, and now is the time for unity, reconciliation and purposeful leadership. I want to appeal to you to ensure that you unite all factions within the Igbo community in Lagos State, as unity remains the foundation for progress and meaningful development.”
“The welfare of Ndigbo should remain a top priority; implement policies and programmes that would improve the well-being of all and make opportunities available to members of the community.”
“I further encourage the new leadership to prioritize the construction of a magnificent secretariat for Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, so that such a project would strengthen the organisation’s presence and serve as a central point for coordinating activities of Ndigbo in the state.”
“Once again, I reaffirm my commitment to supporting my brother and I am optimistic that the administration of Chief Leo Okafor would usher in a new era of unity, growth and development for Ndigbo in Lagos State” he stated.
