Olorunda Council Boss Bags Pan- African 2019 Award For Exemplary Performance

Just like a dove, synonymous with wisdom, loyalty, endurance, peaceful and care, the number One Chief Responsibility Public Officer of Olorunda Local Council Development Area in Lagos State, Hon. Samson Folorunsho Olatunde, has positively changed the negative narrative of a onetime “Worst Local Council” as stated by the former Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), into an enviable one amongst Comity of Development Areas in Lagos State.

Numerous unprecedented landmark achievements of Hon.Samola under his two (2) years administrative review has drawn and earned the Council so many recognitions, both locally and internationally.

The most recent award bagged by the Executive Chairman of the Council, is one of the most prestigious International Award by Pan African International Magazine, for his leadership and exemplary taste for rapid development in rural area like Olorunda Local Council, with excellence.

The Sierra Leonean Ambassador to Ghana, Mrs. Frances Virginia Anderson, presented the Most Outstanding And Performing Local Government Chairman Of The Year Award to Hon. Samson Folorunsho Olatunde, the Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area, on Saturday 17th August, 2019,at the Swiss /Alisa Hotel (Swiss Spirit), in Accra, Ghana.

While presenting the award, the Honourable Sierra Leonean Ambassador commended Hon Samola for his lofty achievements and charged him never to rest his oars in giving his best to the good people of Olorunda LCDA, Lagos State, and Nigeria as the Biggest brother in Africa.

Hon. Samson Olatunde (Samola), while responding to newsmen at the event reiterated that his dream to be in a privileged position as a Council Boss to ensure good governance and more dividends of democratic administration in the country called Nigeria, has always been the impetuous driving force that helped deliver all the accumulated projects achieved in less than two years of his administration. All these no doubt has surpassed any recorded achievements by other Chief Accounting Officers, before his tenure.

A citation (Short Documentary) on Olorunda LCDA under the most resourceful Hon.Samola’s productive administration, played to the world before the presentation of the 2019 PAIR AWARD by the Sierra Leonean Ambassador, became one of the most innovative and creative approaches that came as a delightful moment of the 7th Edition of Pan African International Magazine Recognition Award night.

This automatically takes Olorunda Local Council Development Area to the top of the Most Performing Council in Lagos State, hence, changing the narrative from ‘Bad’ to the ‘Best’ amongst equals in the Comity of LCDAs in the Smart City State of excellence – Lagos State!

Amongst other Awardees at this year PAIR AWARD were: DOWN Syndrome Foundation Nigeria, Shoptomydoor, Koans Building, Diamond Development Initiatives, Bridge The Gap Initiative (BTGI), Gail Associates, Oracle Experience, Zenith Carex International Limited , and few others.

The Publisher of the Pan African International Magazine, Prince  Anyia, while delivering his speech, said, since the Award is not for sale, awardees should be highly appreciative and intensify in delivering more of good leadership qualities as well as developmental growth in their various endeavours to ensure Africa’s greatness.

Part of the 2019 PAIR event highlights, was the 2020 Pan African Voting exercise, aimed at selecting which of the African Country is to host the next International Recognition Awards and Discourse. This saw Sierra Leone emerge as the winner with the highest votes, to host the next 2020 PAIR AWARD, after contending with the likes of South Africa, Nigeria, Gambia, and Kenya.

The wife of the Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area, Mrs. Oluwakemi Olatunde, expresses her joy for the first International recognition award for her husband as a result of his resolute hardworking spirit demonstrated to leave positive footprints for posterity to emulate. The Council Manager Of Olorunda LCDA, Mr.Dawodu Olabode, Chief of Staff, Hon.Ajose, Olusesan, and the Head of Public Affairs Unit, Mr. Ademola Bello-Onilegbale, were among Hon. Samola’s team in Accra, Ghana, to receive the most prestigious Award for excellence.
