The Leadership of Orashi National Congress, ONC, has called on both the National Flood Relief and Rehabitation Committee and State Flood Committee to urgently consider the consideration of POST FLOOD INCENTIVE for flood displaced indigenes of Orashi Region in Rivers State.

Making the case for the flood victims, Comrade Emeni Ibe, the President General, Orashi National Congress, said “

It would be recalled that after the effects of the flood on our people, both the National and State Committee have abandoned our people to their faith, while other states that witnessed the same flood with us had been considering coming with similar POST FLOOD INCENTIVES, wherein the statistics taken from our region was meant to give false hope to our people in Ahoada East, Ahoada West, Abua/Odual and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Areas of Rivers State. Hence we call for proper accountability of the funds released by State Government, Multi-Nationals and private organizations how it was spent etc”.

“Our area is the highest Oil and Gas producing region in the Nation and had been supportive to both the Federal and State Government. We therefore, wonder why this kind of maltreatment. It would be recalled that the Rivers State Government made a pronouncement of donation of One Billion Naira but regrettably our people were asked to go back to leverage home without any provision or incentive for POST FLOOD arrangement to cater for the welfare of the people.”

“We therefore, appeal to the relevant authorities to consider the suffering of our people and make haste to bring succour to them.”

In the same vein, the National President of Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria, Most Snr. Comr. Emeni Ibe, who doubles as President General of Orashi National Congress, ONC, has commended His Excellency, Chief Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, for the completion of the dualized Ahoada/Omoku Road and granting of recognition/Staff of Office to His Imperial Majesty Eze AMB. Sir. Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo AP. JP. Eze Ekpeye Logbo III of Ekpeye Land.

It would be recalled that after the election of Eze Ekpeye Logbo to the throne and subsequent coronation of His Imperial Majesty Eze Amb. Sir. Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo AP. JP. as Eze Ekpeye Logbo III of Ekpeye Land,  no recognition and staff of office was given hence prominent Ekpeye sons and daughters including Most Snr. Comr. Emeni Ibe, prayed and appeal for his recognition.

To the glory of God and happiness of Ekpeye people at the state official commissioning of the dualized  Ahoada/Omoku Road, His Excellency, Chief Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, granted  recognition/Staff of Office to His Imperial Majesty Eze AMB. Sir. Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo AP. JP. Eze Ekpeye Logbo III of Ekpeye  Land.

The National President of Southern Youths of Nigeria expressed profound joy and gratitude to the Governor of Rivers State for making their people proud.
