This year’s celebration is particularly significant as the ONC has chosen to honour Her Excellency, Prof. Mrs. Ngozi Nma Odu, the Deputy Governor of Rivers State, as the Inspiration of the Year.

The ONC President General further reiterated the Congress’s commitment to advocating for women’s rights, empowerment, and inclusion in leadership. He called for greater support for mothers and women at all levels, urging stakeholders to ensure that policies and initiatives favor their growth and development.
As part of the celebration, the Orashi National Congress is set to host series of empowerment programmes aimed at enhancing women’s participation in leadership, entrepreneurship, and community development, including  holding prayers for all mothers and most especially for Her Excellency’s quick recovery and restoration of suspended arms of government back in Rivers State.
The Mothers’ Day is globally observed by the  Christian community each year, serving as a platform to reflect on progress made in gender equality and to amplify the voices of Mothers world-wide in the upbringing of their children and the wellbeing of the society.

As the celebrations continue, the call for inclusivity, equality, and empowerment remains stronger than ever. The Orashi National Congress has reaffirmed its stance in ensuring that mothers and women generally are given their rightful place in governance, economic development, and societal transformation.”
