He said, according to the LASTMA officials at the scene of the accident which occurred around 9:30 am, the driver of the Honda Civic car sustained a serious neck injury which resulted in his death on the spot.
“The LASTMA Officials, as first emergency responders, later confirmed that the dead driver was living inside Meiran Estate which is close to the scene of the accident and handed over the corpse of the deceased to his family from the estate”, he added.
While informing that both vehicles have since been removed from the road to ensure free vehicular movement for other road users, Oreagba stated that the driver of the Volkswagen commercial bus took to his heels immediately after the accident.
The General Manager, therefore, reiterated the need for all motorists and vehicle owners in the State to desist from disobeying traffic laws, particularly by driving against the traffic on a one-way road.
