The Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Onilude Segun Adeniran, has charged men of the Nigerian Immigration Service to expedite actions targeted at strengthening the security architecture  in synergy with other security agencies and relevant stakeholders in combating crime, securing the waterways and protecting territorial integrity against economic sabotage.
Hon. Onilude gave the charge when he hosted the newly posted Comptroller of Lagos Seaport And Marine Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), CIS Joseph Olutayo Dada and his contingent who were on a familiarization visit to the council.
“I extend heartiest congratulations to you on your new appointment and also welcome you to Badagry. Badagry is a border community both on land and also via the sea and Lagoon. I am aware of the challenges inherent in the Badagry-Seme axis for your men especially differentiating between Nigerians and our neighbours across the border. The time we are now calls for vigilance and tact. Hence we must find the means to continue to collaborate in sensitizing or educating our people on some grey areas about your operation and every other possible way that can make your assignment easy.”
Hon. Onilude also commended men of the Nigeria Immigration for their commitment and the professional approach in discharging their duties while charging the new comptroller to expedite action on stemming the tide of influx of foreigners through the border.
In his remarks, Comptroller of Lagos Seaport And Marine Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), CIS Joseph Olutayo Dada thanked Hon. Onilude for the warm welcome. CIS Dada said the NIS is poised to sanitize and protect the waterways against any nefarious activities. He assured the council boss that his men will robustly marshall professionalism and synergy in discharging their duties.
Also on hand to receive the NIS contingent was the vice-chairman, Hon. Elizabeth Kappo; the SLG, Hon. Moses Gbetogo Opa; the council manager, Sir. Asokere Sejuro Philip; Council Treasurer, Mr. Olugbenga Hunponu; and the SA on Special Duties, Hon. Kamoru Ajape.
