Oshoala: Esther Ajayi, Saviour Of Women Football In Nigeria

Reigning African women player of the year, Nigerian striker, Asisat Oshoala (MON) has described Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi, the General Overseer of the Love of Christ Generation Church, United Kingdom and promoter of Esther Ajayi Foundation as the saviour of women football in Nigeria.

Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi through her foundation supported the recently held Asisat Oshoala 2018 Football4Girls Clinic, which took place at the Campos Mini Stadium, Lagos Island. She is the major financier of the week-long clinic for students in secondary school in Lagos.

PM EXPRESS reports that over 5, 000 students took part in the clinic. The closing ceremony was a beehive of activities with exhibition match by a selected side of the Super Eagles playing against a selected Super Falcons stars. Prizes of cash and kinds were giving out to deserving students on the final day.

Oshoala, who plays for Chinese side Dalian Quanjian F.C. in the Chinese Women’s Super League as a forward praises Rev. Mother Ajayi for her contribution in promoting women football in the country, adding that what the clergywoman has been contributing to the game deserved to be applauded.

Oshoala thanked her for being a pillar of support to her pet project, Asisat Oshoala Foundation and the yearly organised Asisat Oshoala Football4Girls Clinic which has added values to the Lagos secondary schools female students in their dream to choose football as a career.

“I must commend my mother, my mentor for standing by me all the times I call on her for support. Her response to my calls has always been tremendous ones. I want to use this medium to thank her.

“She has done a lot for us in Nigerian women football, we cannot but give kudos to her for the support,” Oshoala said.

Rev. Mrs Esther Ajayi has touched all areas of sports in Nigeria with her magnanimous support. She sponsored over 500 members of the Nigerian Football and All Sports Supporters Club to the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup taking care of their flight, accommodation and feeding for the period they stayed in Russia.

She was also a support for Nigerian boxer Larry Ekundayo in a recent bout in the United Kingdom. Her philanthropic support was also given to some Nigerian sports academies which went on tour of the United Kingdom recently.

PM EXPRESS can report that at Esther Ajayi Foundation, the mission is to change people’s lives through the power of giving, with the vision to touch one million lives in the next 12 months. The vision of the Foundation is not only to become a world class humanitarian and philanthropic organization but also to inspire, raise up and support generation of givers.
