A 61-year old randy cleric, Pastor Famakinwa Ajayi, will be spending the next 18 years in prison custody for defiling and impregnating a 16-year old girl during deliverance prayer session inside the market in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that it was the judgment of Justice Yemi Fasanmi of the Ondo State High Court, who found him  guilty and sentenced him accordingly.
Pastor Ajayi was charged to Court on a two-count of charge of unlawful sexual intercourse with a child, contrary to Section 31(1)of the Child’s Rights Law of Ondo State, and sexual abuse and exploitation contrary to Section 32 (1).
The victim had since gave birth to a baby boy and was named “Peter”.
When the matter was reported to the Police, Pastor Ajayi was arrested and charged before the Court with the suit No: AK/195C/2021 on behalf of the Ondo State Government by Mrs. Helen Falowo (Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, Ondo State Ministry of Justice).
Mrs. Falowo stated that the defendant defiled and repeatedly had carnal knowledge of the victim at his house in Ayede Ogbese township in Akure North LGA of Ondo State, where the family of the victim were tenants.
The defendant was also alleged to have raped the victim at the market square, where he took her on the pretense of delivering her from demonic spirits.
He continued in the dastardly act unabashedly till the innocent minor became pregnant in October 2021.
The convict, however, confessed to having slept with the victim once in his living room before he was charged to Court.
While delivering judgment, Justice Yemi Fasanmi discharged and acquitted the defendant on count two but found him  guilty on count one as charged and subsequently sentenced him accordingly.
