A self acclaimed cleric, Pastor Shola Michael Lasisi, of the Chapel of Glory and Peace,  Igando, Lagos, has landed in trouble for allegedly engaging an 18-year old girl in sex during deliverance prayers.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Pastor Lasisi, has been arrested and charged for allegedly having unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim.

The incident happened on 18th August, 2024, at Igando Road, Moshalashi bus stop, Ikotun, Lagos.

According to the Police,  the victim came all the way from Atan, Ogun State, to the church for spiritual prayers over an undisclosed problem of which Pastor Lasisi promised to deliver her from.

He was said to have started touching parts of her body during the prayers including her breasts and private part. And in the process, he had carnal knowledge of her.

When the victim regained her senses,  she realized that she had been raped. She went to the Ikotun Police Division and reported what happened. The Police moved into action, arrested and detained Pastor Lasisi at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor,  Supol Akeem Raji, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the nature of the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.

The matter was adjourned till 30th September, 2024, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
