The Head, Political Bureau in Imo State, Barr. Enyinna Onuegbu, has urged opposition political parties in the state to steer clear of the primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying that the party knows how to settle its differences.
According to him, the issue “is a family affair”.
Onuegbu made this known in Owerri, the state capital, while speaking on the outcome of the primaries held recently in the state.
He recalled that the constitution of APC recognises the consensus mode of primaries for its aspirants for elective positions.
Onuegbu maintained that as the leader of the party in the state, Governor Hope Uzodimma has made not only the members but also the party proud.
He reiterated that the governor has the interest of the party at heart, assuring however, that the governor is on top of the situation.
Onuegbu called on other political parties in the state planning to field candidates in the upcoming councillorship and chairmanship elections to go ahead and showcase their manifesto to the electorate.
