Private Driver Crushes 2 Men To Death On Lagos Highway

 A 40-year old private driver,  Mr. Ihenacho Raymond has landed in trouble after he crushed two victims, Miracle Onwuzuluike and Joseph John to death while driving his Honda SUV on a highway in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Lagos State University, (LASU) expressway by Isheri Olofin area of Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the victims, Miracle Onwuzuluike and Joseph John were said to have met their untimely death while they were by road side to enter a bus to Iyana Iba for disclosed an mission. It was gathered that Mr. Raymond was on high speed with his Honda SUV with registration number, AKD 545 ED before he lost control and eventually crushed the victims and other passengers by the road side.

The two victims were said to have died on the spot while the other victims sustained various degrees of injuries and were moved to an undisclosed hospitals for treatment.

The matter was reported to the police at Idimu Division, Raymond was arrested and detained at the police station. The remains of the deceased were retrieved and deposited at an undisclosed mortuary for autopsy report.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Raymond has been charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates court for murder by driving in a reckless and dangerous manner that caused the death of the victims.

He pleaded not guilty before the court.

The prosecutor, Inspector G. Simon informed the court that the matter was a case of accident that claimed two lives and asked the court to use its discretion if the court wanted to grant him bail.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.K.J. Layeni granted Raymond bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The suspect was remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 16 May, 2018.
