The joy of indigent widows in Anambra knew no bounds since the wife of Governor of Anambra State, and founder of Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFE), Her Excellency Chief (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano (Osodieme) started building free houses for them in communities across Anambra State.

Under the CAFE Housing for Indigent widows, a total of twelve houses made up of nine 2-Bedrooms and two 3-Bedroom bungalows have so been built and handed over to lucky beneficiaries. The houses are located at Amatutu village, Agulu, Ebenator village, Amichi, Amorka, Okebunoye village, Alor, Awba Ofemili, Enugwu-otu, Obeagu village, Nri; Ifite village, Ogbunike, Isioye village, Umunya, Osile village, Ogbunike, and Umuanum village, Nibo while other sites are under construction.

In continuation of our account of the ‘Ripples’ of Osodieme’s Kindness, we share the testimony of Mrs. Chinyeaka Okeke a native of Ebenato-Okpalla, Amichi in Nnewi South Local Government Area one of the twelve beneficiaries of CAFE Housing for indigent widows…

“Mommy Ants No Longer bite us”

Mrs. Chinyeaka Okeke mother of six from Ebenato-Okpalla, Amichi who lost her husband in August 2015 recounted an interesting conversation with one of her six children who reminded her of their experience in their former thatched house, before Osodieme built a new one for them. “Mommy she said, ant no longer bites us. We now sleep at any corner of the house we choose.”

Chinyeaka Okeke spared no adjectives in appreciating Osodieme for the gift of a 2-bedroom bungalow built for her in 2016. Said she; “I never expected this kind of gift from anybody. Since I moved into this house I am always happy whether I eat or not. It was one faithful day when someone came to tell me that the wife of the Governor said she will build a house for me, I thought it was a joke until they came back and started work and within three weeks they sunk a borehole for water and the house went up.

Chinyeaka stated; “I don’t know how to thank God. If this is something you buy with money, I cannot afford it.  Even the fact that the wife of the Governor came into my compound to build for me is still a mystery.  In fact, our mommy Ebelechukwu is the god I have seen in this world because of what she did for me and my family even though she didn’t know me. My prayer is that God will continue to reward her and her husband our Governor.”
